Traffic and drug offences, Garbutt
Two men have been charged with traffic and drug offences following an incident early this morning in Garbutt.
Police located two vehicles parked in the driveway of a 24-hour laundromat on Bayswater Road at about 2:30am.
It will be alleged officers spoke to the driver of one of the cars before he started the vehicle and drove away at high speed.
A short time later the same car was intercepted on Woolcock Street with original driver seated in the rear, allegedly wearing no seatbelt.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle where they located a number of clip seal bags, a hypodermic syringe and a quantity of methylamphetamine.
A 33-year-old Hyde Park man has been charged with wilfully make unnecessary noise, unlicensed driving and fail to wear seatbelt.
He is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on September 28.
A 33-year-old Bushland Beach man has been charged with possess dangerous drugs and fail to dispose of needle.
He is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on October 11.
